Dr. Krystal L. Williams (PI)
Dr. Krystal L. Williams is an Associate Professor of Higher Education in Department of Educational Leadership & Policy Analysis at the University of Wisconsin. Her research interests lay at the intersection of race, equity and education policy issues, with a focus on marginalized groups in STEM and Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Dr. Williams directs the Education Policy & Equity Research Collective (Ed_PERC)— the umbrella research entity for cSERT. She attended the University of Michigan where she completed her doctoral studies in Higher Education and Public Policy in the Center for the Study of Higher and Postsecondary Education. She also attended Clark Atlanta University where she earned a BS and MS in mathematics and graduated valedictorian.

Imani N. Callan
Imani N. Callan is a doctoral student at the McBee Institute of Higher Education. Prior to attending the University of Georgia, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology, a Master’s of Science in Higher Education Administration on the Enrollment Management Track, as well as a Certificate in Student Life & Development from the University of Miami. Previously, she worked as an Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admission at the University of Miami for four years. Her research interests include: diversity, equity, and inclusion within enrollment management; access to higher education for historically underrepresented students; and retention of historically underrepresented students.
Will Walker
Will Walker, Jr. is a doctoral student in the PhD program at the Louise McBee Institute of Higher Education. He holds an M.S.Ed. in Higher Education and Student Affairs from Indiana University and a B.A. in Leadership Studies from the University of Richmond. Will has professional experiences in residence life/housing and grant writing/management. Currently, Will’s research interest center topics such as student engagement, governance, and organizational change. Will is also interested in research that considers how diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging are achieved in post-secondary institutions.
Zeynel Gocer
Zeynel Gocer completed a Masters Degree in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis (ELPA) at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, specializing in Educational Policy and Program Evaluation. He also earned a Bachelor Degree from Cukurova University and brings 11 years of experience teaching English in K–12 schools in Turkey. His research interests include educational measurement, program evaluation, and the development of policies that promote equity and effectiveness in education.
Elijah Lin
Elijah Lin is pursuing a Masters in Higher Education in the University of Wisconsin, Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis Department. Elijah earned their Associate of Science at Madison College as a part of the Early College STEM Program. They also recently completed their undergraduate training in Educational Policy Studies and Psychology with a minor in Gender and Women Studies at the University of Wisconsin—Madison. Their research interests focus on utilizing critical theories (Intersectional Feminism, Queer Theory, etc.) to better understand how underrepresented students navigate and belong in higher education, and how higher education (re)produces inequalities around race, gender, and class.
